Type of rainwater collection tanks

Rainwater collection tanks have different types.  As vertical, horizontal, underground or above ground we can group these tanks. But we can group these tanks in two main group with separator or without separator. And production can be supplied as vertical, horizontal for both of these groups.

Underground Rainwater Tanks

Rainwater tanks can be categorized in 2 main categories. One of this underground tanks (the most used) and above ground tanks. Also we categorized them many other sub-category accordingly filter, pump use and tanks with pump (machine) room. You can view all rainwater collection tank categories  and their sub-categories.

Underground Tanks with Fiberglass Filter

We are using a basic and cheaper fiberglass filter for rainwater collection. This filter, during filling of rainwater into tank, is used to prevent materials such as leaves, paper and other debris from entering the tank. We can categorized these tanks accordingly pump type that will be used.

Hydrophore Pump Use with Fiberglass Filters

Equipment list will change accordingly pump type that you will use. It supplies easy installation for you. If your tank will be placed underground, pump can be installed at above of ground. Piping system designed accordingly this.

Working Process
  • Rainwater pipes collected from roofs or other surfaces are connected to inlet pipes (3) on inlet manhole with fiberglass filter (12). Inlet pipe can be assembled all sides of manholes. So rainwater pipes from different areas can be connected to tank. Also accordingly request we can put a water connection adaptor.
  • Filtered rainwater will fill inside of tank. Filter should be cleaned after all rainy weather.
  • Backwater adaptor  (7) is used to connection of backwater valve. Dont forget to connect this valve to prevent the pump from air locking.
  • Pump connection system is demountable. It is fixed to cap (5) with 4 pieces bolts. Also you can change direction of pump adaptor 90 degrees to all directions. 
  • Tank has a overflow (8). If rainwater will be more than tank capacity, this pipe will work. You need to connect this pipe a sewage line.
  • Vent pipe (10). There will be a pvc ventilator for tank.
  • Lifting lugs (11). Will be used to load, unload and placement of tank to underground.
Submerisble Pump Use with Fiberglass Filters

Rainwater tanks also can be used with submersible pump. You can put pump inside of your tank onto pump table. You can view equipment list and see how it is installed. To choose right pump type please ask for pump producers that you will purchase.

Working Process

  • Pump connection will be supplied with inner threaded adaptor (4). This is a double sided adaptor so you can connect pump inner side of this adaptor then you can continue to pump installation at outside of tank. Also for cable  output (5) you can use adaptor on tank.
  • Tank has a overflow (7). If rainwater will be more than tank capacity, this pipe will work. You need to connect this pipe a sewage line.

Underground Tanks with Vortex Filter

Vortex filter is a rainwater filtraion tube supply %95 efficiency. The design of vortex filter ensures that rainwater entering the chamber is the directed against the side walls of body, creating a high pressure vortex flow. As the rainwater flows through the vertical filter, it becomes oxygenated, thereby improving the quality of the stored water. Since it is a filter system that maintaines the full cross-section of the rainwater drains, nearly all filtered water is directed to the storage tank even during heavy rainfall. 

The product features a 38 mesh stainless steel inner filter placed vertically along the body axis. This filter captures suspended and floating solid particles without obstructing the water flow, providing %95 filtration efficiency. As the water flows, the rainwater is cleaned, and the filter simultaneously cleans itself.

In models with a connection diameter smaller than 250 mm the upper body has a 360-degree rotatable design. This feature facilitates the integration of the vortex filter  into drainage lines coming from different directions.

Vortex filter clean water outlet pipe will be connect to tank inlet pipe. Filter inlet pipe will be connected to rainwater pipes collected from all roof and surfaces. The 3rd pipe is connected to sewage. We can make production up to 3000m2 roof and surface area. Also can be used as above ground. It is enough to connect filter to rainwater roof pipe.

Working Process
  • Rainwater pipes from coming roof and surface connect to vortex filter (5). Vortex filter has 2 different pipes. One of this for waste water to send it sewage and other one clean water to fill tank. This clean water pipe is connected to tank inlet pipe (4).
  • Filtered rainwater fill into tank with a flow equalizer (6-7-8). This equipment is optional. For heavy rain, flowrate will be high so this equipment will help to equalizer flowrate.
  • Also another optional equipment is swimming float (12), you can connect this equipment to pump and supply maximum water usage.
  • Pump connection system is demountable. It is fixed to cap (5) with 4 pieces bolts. Also you can change direction of pump adaptor 90 degrees to all directions. 
  • Also there is a overflow equipment. This is named as overflow syphon (15). The overflow syphon ensures that excess rainwater is directed to the sewer system while simultaneously preventing any materials, including pests and other solid matter from entering the tank from this line.
  • You can use submersible pump for this type of tank. Hydrophore pump use is also possible, too. For submersible pump there is a table and access way. Pump will be installed on this table and pump pipe connected to pump adaptor (2). Also for pump cables there is a another adaptor for output of cable (3). 
  • Vent pipe (10). There will be a pvc ventilator for tank.
  • Lifting lugs (11). Will be used to load, unload and placement of tank to underground.
  • Tanks capacity is bigger than 25cbm there are external supports from NPU100. These supports are coated with fiberglass. Also there are anchorage plates that you can directly fix your tank to concreted ground.

Underground Rainwater Tanks with Pump (Machine) Room

Rainwater collection tank has also a category named as pump room. Tank has a room inside of it for installing pump and other equipments. As izoplas standard this room has 2 meter length and a big manway with 1.2 meter diameter. We can supply room for all capacities. You can see equipment details and sample tank pictures at below.

Working Process
  • Inlet process is same with other rainwater collection tank type, you can see more detailed information about vortex filter and other optional equipments.
  • If you use swimming float, this equipment will be connected to inner of water tank chamber of tank (13-14). Pump will be connected in mechanic zone same adaptor (13). Swimming float will collect water and deliver to pump.
  • There is a big pump table inner side of pump room (5). Because of cylindrical shape of tank, this table should be for better installation of pump.
  • There are 3 adaptor inside of pump room. These are double sided adaptors. So you can connect pump these adaptors and continue installement from outside of tank. Also for cable output you can find an other inner threaded adaptor (4). These adaptor types can be changed as flange or other type you request.
Equipment List – Less Than 25cbm
Working Process

Working process is same with other capacity that has pump room. Just for tanks bigger than 25cbm capacity has a ladder inner side of pump room. And has external NPU support rings.
